Launched in 1981, the Ferrari 512 BBi received a Bosch K Jetronic electronic fuel injection system to comply with the new American anti-pollution regulations. More torquey at low revs, its 340hp 4. 9-liter V12 engine gained in reliability and flexibility. A true icon of the 1980s, it retained its Pininfarina design and enjoyed the same success as its predecessor, with 1, 007 examples produced up to 1984. Our 512 BBi rolled off the production line in 1982 and was delivered on January 3, 1983 by Motor SPA in Modena. It was regularly serviced by this garage until 1991, when its odometer read 7, 598 km. It was then used very little before being imported into France in 2015. Its odometer read 9, 586 km when it passed its first technical inspection. Its current owner purchased it in 2021 from a Parisian dealer, having covered some 300 km since 2015. Delivered new in a rare Giallo Fly color, the bodywork has been repainted in the past in the model's characteristic two-tone configuration, and is in beautiful condition. The all-original interior is very well preserved, with superb black leather upholstery and the original car radio and Pioneer equalizer. The driver's and passenger's door sill carpets still have their original protective plastics. Mechanically, our car is in excellent working order, and since 2021 has been serviced by specialists including Heritage Motors Cars in Paris. Over €41, 000 has been invested to keep the car in good working order. The shock absorbers and steering rack were replaced in 2022, the gearbox was overhauled and the timing belt replaced in 2021.
