Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at Kempton Park 2026 on Saturday the 18th of July, Kempton Park Racecourse, TW16 5AE.
Following Buddy Elmore's win on a 500cc Triumph in 1966 at the Daytona 200, the 500cc Tiger 100 Daytona (T100T) was developed by Triumph's Chief Engineer and designer Doug Hele and launched as a production motorcycle the following year with most bound for the US market
Unlike standard 500cc models, the Daytona featured dual Amal concentric carbs, higher compression (9:1), 'race-profile' cams and offered 40bhp and 110mph
The 1971 model year retained much of its 1960s-era running gear, including a single downtube frame, while benefiting from updated bodywork and hardware seen on the new 650s of that year
UK-supplied and first registered on the 31st August 1971, this is an older restoration that still looks very smart
A matching numbers example that is running and riding well and has been used by our vendor for club runs for the last five years
Recent oil change in preparation for the sale
UK-registered on a current V5C and correctly classed as Historic
A handsome example of Triumph's sporty mid-weight twin that is ready to be enjoyed
