Description
The 1953 Aston Martin DB2 is one of the most iconic cars in the British brand's history. Produced in the last year of the model's first generation, the DB2 stood out for its combination of elegance, performance, and advanced engineering for its time, establishing the foundations of Aston Martin's reputation as a manufacturer of luxury sports cars.
Equipped with a 2. 6-liter inline six-cylinder engine designed by WO Bentley, the DB2 developed around 105 horsepower in the standard version and up to 125 horsepower in the Vantage version. Coupled with a four-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, it was capable of reaching speeds close to 190 km/ h, a remarkable performance for the early 1950s.
Its design was distinguished by its elegant and balanced lines, with a long hood, characteristic Aston Martin front grille, and an aluminum body mounted on a tubular steel frame. The interior offered high-quality finishes, including leather seats, a wooden dashboard, and Smiths instrumentation, reflecting the refinement typical of British grand touring cars.
Beyond its qualities as a road car, the Aston Martin DB2 achieved significant results in international competitions, especially the 24 Hours of Le Mans, contributing to the brand's sporting image. Currently, the 1953 DB2 is considered a highly valued classic by collectors, recognized for its rarity, beauty, and historical importance in the development of Aston Martin. Fully restored vehicle, fully documented, in a fantastic color combination.
