The Lambretta Li150 series 2 was launched in October 1959. Based on the successful series 1 with the obvious difference being the position of the headlight on the handlebars for better lighting when cornering. It had an engine based on the Li150 series 1 but with an increased stroke and several other small modifications all over the scooter that made it the best selling Lambretta of all time.
API was the first company in India to manufacture Lambrettas under license in the 1950s. Beginning with the D and LD models and then Li Series 2 models which they manufactured still named as Lambretta Series 2 up until 1973. Thereafter API lost the license which went to SIL but continued with the same design calling them Lambys up until 1989.
This example is we believe in standard specification and was purchased from Modern Scooters of Surrey in 2015. We have had sight of a mechanical repair bill of £3925 from CJ scooters who completely mechanically renovated the scooter from back to front. We are informed it has never been used since that restoration.
