Presented in Gloss black with Nutmeg leather and hood, History portfolio, overdrive, seat belts, wire wheels and tools.
This XK140 Drop Head Coupe was ordered new in the specification she retains today from Henleys Jaguar of Mayfair by Patrick Hugh Filmer-Shankey and delivered new to his Westminster home in June 1955. As well as being a well known film producer and husband of Actress Josephine Griffin he was also the Grandson of The Duke of Westminster. Where period photographs, we understand, appeared with the glamorous young actress and aristocrat with their shiny black Jaguar that they enjoyed for over 12 years.
In 1967 the second owner acquired her and retaining this XK for over 15 years. In 1982 it was acquired by XK Jaguar expert Jeremy Wade when it subsequently was added to the Nigel Dawes Jaguar collection.
The last owner purchased this XK140 in 2013 and used the XK extensively including on various Historic motoring events in the UK and Europe covering nearly 15000 miles in her. where she is well documented in various classic car and Jaguar publications which accompany the vehicle.
We have personally driven this XK over 260 miles and she performed faultlessly. The disk brake upgrade notably improves braking. The overdrive clicks in precisely and she retained a constant temperature during that long journey.
Documentation details the very low ownership and mileage and confirms this example is a matching numbers British XK that retains its works specification with the added advantage of a full FIVA passport
Road tax free And MOT exempt, however she has been MOT tested.
