The first DB2 model was introduced very shortly after the London Motor Show in October 1950. The first in the line was David Brown's personal car. The drophead coupe offered luxurious open-air motoring in style.
'LML/ 50/ 151' was first registered on 31 December 1951 and delivered to New York on 29 August 1952. Little history is available between 1952 and 2016.
In April 2016, the DB2 was acquired by a custodian from Beverly Hills Car Club as a non-running project for £265, 000. Following the purchase, the custodian exported the DB2 to Rzepecki Auto in Poland for extensive restorative work between the 8th April 2017 completing 25th November 2019.
Total expenditure for the works was over £166, 000, with a focus on originality but some upgrades were included such as most notably mechanical modifications of power steering and a 5-speed gearbox.
2019 saw the DB2 sold through Le Riche Automobile Restorers, Jersey, to its current custodian in Gloucestershire, where it has been part of a car collection.
Prior to coming for sale, it has received a full workshop inspection and service at Richards of England.
This DB2 is arguably one of the best Vantage Drophead examples for sale today.
