Lovely, reliable, unpretentious supercar. This car has been in my family for 35 years and I have owned it myself since 1982, so it is a terrific wrench to be selling it.

This is a completely original car, with no modifications or tinkering. The only item not on the original car is the Aston-recommended upgrade to the electronic ignition system, which I installed in 1984. I have a fat file of every item of expenditure and every job done on the car, with all receipts and invoices. It has a lot of original documentation, brochures and catalogues from the time, and a number of photographs of its time in my family.
The car is now a dark, soft metallic Forest Green, with tan interior, after a bare metal re-spray from the original very 1970's bright metallic blue. The car is regularly used and is in superb mechanical condition, with the engine, transmission and running gear all perfect. The suspension is silent, no knocks or thumps, and the acceleration is terrific - a real thrill to drive. I have test driven some more modern high-powered cars and they don't even come close. Steering is tight and light, brakes all fine.
The bodywork is very good, with no ripples or dents, and the paintwork is mostly excellent. A very handsome car indeed. The interior leather has been restored and is completely beautiful. The carpets are fine, but a bit of money spent here would make the interior fantastic. The bumpers have been re-chromed. The engine bay is tidy but not glamorous. Again some money spent here would smarten it up but there is no serious repair work to be done. The chassis and sills are solid and do not need work.
The only known problems:
- speedo cable has recently broken, and I am in the process of replacing.
- air conditioning system needs re-filling with gas
- the original screw jack (completely useless even when new) has broken
- there is some marking/ damage to the lacquer on some of the wheels
- a badge missing on one wheel
