Wolseley 12/ 48 series III 1939
For sale is my beautiful 12/ 48. I have had the car for just under a year and it was bought with the intention of performing a full restoration. However due to logistics of moving house to one without a garage large enough to hold the Wolseley and the other family cars, it is with regret that I must sell her.
Bodywork
Although the bodywork of the Wolseley leaves something to be desired, it is not anything too bad. There is some surface rust and the rear right wing of the vehicle is in need of replacement. There are spares available and owners clubs you can join that have spares programs. The car is pretty much complete so far as I can see with the exception of one exterior door handle and a radiator cap. I have recently had the car apart as I was doing some of the restoration and I can assure you that I have any cosmetic parts, i. e. door handles and actual doors, that can not be seen in the photos.
Interior
Considering the car’s age it’s interior is in fantastic condition. The leather is especially in very good condition and I have restored the dashboard to a good condition. Carpets could do with replacing, as could the headliner, however this is not essential and the car would still be fine if this was not done.
Mechanics
The previous owner was a well-known and trusted car dealer who sells classic cars, and assured me that the engine did in fact run, however as the car does not have a radiator cap a rag had to be used. Transmission on inspection also seems to be in fairly good shape and it looks the muffler and exhaust have been replaced. Wheels also seem in fairly good condition, as does suspension. Viewing is advised so you can see for yourself and viewers are welcome, but please no time wasters. If you are unable to view I can send extra photos on request.
This car does need some restoration to get it roadworthy again but nothing too major, but with a little more could be a very lovely and beautiful car. Car is priced at £2000 ono. £100 non-refundable deposit on purchase.
