HISTORY
HHR560E was delivered new to Steels of Swindon in January 1967 and started life as a dealer demo car before being sold on to the Barker family as a new car: they kept it until 1977 when it was sold to a Mr Hayward who used it until it failed its MOT in 1984. It was passed on as project to his brother in law in 1989 and put back on the road after restoration in 1995 after which it was used for local shows. The last owner bought HHR560E in 2010 and used it for a couple of years. I have done the front brakes, put two new front tyres on the car and repaired the wipers to get it through the MOT. It is great fun to drive with a beautiful gearbox, good brakes and nippy handling: it will sit at 65-70mph happily There is an excellent history file with the car and every MOT back to the eighties plus all the handbooks, parts book and factory workshop manual.
BODY
Overall the body is very presentable but the work was done over 20 years ago now and there is rust coming through on the boot lid, bottom of the drivers side front wing and the front the passenger side front wing. All good underneath but I feel the problem at the base of the front wing will need tackling before the next MOT. All the chrome is presentable
MECHANICAL
Very strong, smooth engine: fires first time hot or hold and no smoke or overheating issues. It wasn't charging when I got the car but this is sorted now, There is a slight whiff of exhaust fumes in the A40 at times and all the various rattles associated with cheap sixties cars when driving along, but overall impressive for what it is. New battery and front brake piston seals.
INTERIOR
Apart from tears on the drivers seat all good. Fitted rubber mats in the front. Heater works nicely, Seat belts fitted in the front.
