I bought this beautiful Mk II Jaguar to use on a European road trip but health has got in the way. Sad to say, I must sell her.
Its a very original example with only 62, 500 original miles, that includes Jaguar Heritage certificate showing matching engine number and correct factory BRG paint with fantastic suede green Connolly leather. Its all original not some over restored car that will never be original like mine that was built by workers in Coventry at Jaguar Cars in the 60's.
If you are looking for a Mk2 you will notice prices on the rise, and most are either 'rust buckets' or restored with no concern to originality. My Mk2 is not a show queen, but nice presentable example that shows only 2 owners on the V5C. [793 UYP] You can show it at any car event and be a very proud owner standing next to it.
It has optional power steering, and 'Coopercraft' disc brakes on all 4 corners. The gearbox is manual 4 speed with electric OD (over drive) all working as it should.
You will notice the boot mat removed in the photo, only removed to show how clean and rust-free this Mk2 is. The rear boot mat is original and also perfect condition.
The suede green Connolly leather is 100% original and with a few small marks that gives it a fantastic 'patina' for a vintage car of this period.
Green Wilton wool carpets are brand new with fresh under padding insulation, as is the green broadcloth headliner. All the door rubbers with felt trim are new as well. It has a new front windscreen and new window rubbers. The interior wood trim is in original perfect order. Even has the factory radio.
It has a dual pipe stainless exhaust system that sings when the Jaguar 6 cylinder 2. 4 liter twin cam engine is at speed.
You might think that a 3. 8 is a better car but while it might give more power, it is not any faster at top speed. The 2. 4 engine was developed for savings of tax and fuel consumption.
They rev better and with the twin solex carbs it has good usable power on any road.
The best part about this Mk2 is the originality. Even the glass windscreen washer bottle is in place, and complete set of tools,(none missing) The service books and wallet, and a brand new 'Thor' copper/ leather hammer, all included.... Its not missing anything!
