Description
For sale is my 1976 Mk2/ 3 Mini 1000 which I have owned and fettled for the past 5 years.
It currently has a 1340cc A+ engine which was installed a couple of years ago, built by an engine builder in Bristol. The engine only has 1000 or so miles on it. It is a fast road tune with a single HIF 1. 75” carb. It’s got cooper front discs, coil overs and reconditioned gearbox (non straight cut) with extended oil pickup pipe. It produces 80hp at the wheels and 90 lb/ ft. I have it fitted with twin fuel tanks. It's a very exciting drive with the sticky yokohama A032Rs.
The car is in very good condition and for the last few years is really only driven on the occasional weekend in the summer (I dry store it over the winter). It spent some years off the road before I owned it (on the forecourt of a dealership), so has a genuine 45, 000 miles. Rust is not a problem on this car.
It had a new genuine rear subframe when the engine was changed. I’ve been gradually turning it into an MK1 cooper - the only thing remaining to do would be the tail lights.
There are a couple of cosmetic things which could be tidied - there is some flakey paint on the A-pillars and along the bottom of the windows, and the drivers seat has a little rip in it. I toyed with the idea of reupholstering it but it seemed a shame because the interior is so nicely patinated.
The car comes with a second set of wheels and tyres (6" starmags), a waterproof cover, an indoor cotton cover, and a few boxes of assorted spares.
Only genuinely interested buyers please. Offers welcome.
