We are delighted to offer for sale, this newly refurbished Series 3. This vehicle has been constructed to stand out from the crowd, and enjoys many additional features not normally found on a vehicle of this type. The inspiration for this build was gained from the more modern 90 soft top, in an attempt to recreate the 90 in an 88".
Externally, modular wheels were mated to larger, aggressive tyres for off road capability and looks. Wheel arch extenders have been also added for legality and to further give a nod to the later 90. A side opening bespoke rear tailgate was fashioned, with a matching spare fitted to the swing away wheel carrier. New lights all round give a fresh, crisp appearance. Up front a "clean" bonnet with dish was fitted. A new, hand made black canvas with side windows was commissioned. Defender wing mirrors were also retro fitted, again to mimic the later 90 which inspired this. The bodywork was carefully prepared and finished in Arles Blue, a modern Defender colour.
The interior has also received much attention. The interior was professionally colour matched, and new, high back deluxe seats have been fitted. A pair of matching rear bench seats with seat belts makes this a proper family runaround. The addition of a seat belt bar allows "proper" belts to be fitted to the front.
The underside of this stunning creation has also had much attention. The whole chassis has been thoroughly cleaned and subsequently painted with a special chassis treatment, meaning it will prevent corrosion and look good for years to come.
To make the vehicle go as well as it looks, the fit 2286cc petrol engine has been fitted with a more powerful Weber carburetor - with a performance filter to aid with breathing. A new exhaust manifold and full stainless exhaust have ensured a lively pick up and very pleasing engine tone - so it really is getting the best out of every last cc of capacity!
As one would expect this truck has great road presence, and turns heads whenever seen out! It would be ideal as cool, urban street machine, or a surfers means of transport to the beach - it really is a cool looking truck and looks great in every possible location.
Much time, money and effort has gone into this build and we are very happy with the results - as this is a one off, if you like it be quick, as it's the only one around!!
