1982 Ford Fiesta Gr. 2 Rally Car
Built in Sep 2012 this MK1 Fiesta had a distinguished motor-sport career
participated in 2013, 14 and 2015 Greek Historic Championship (including Historic
Acropolis Rally)
Original May 1982, 2 door shell, fully restored, seam welded and prepared to full Group 2 spec by Carestoration. gr .
Historic specifications including, reinforced chassis cross member mounts, fully
seam welded, reinforced and skidded chassis rails, reinforced seat
mounts, reinforced jacking points, reinforced rear spring mounts, rear
suspension turrets etc, etc.
Firewall front and rear.
FIA Historic 6 point welded roll cage with 6 additional chassis mounts,
lateral brace and under dash brace FIA compliance.
Front and rear wide arches. Steel doors, steel boot and bonnet.
Welded front strut brace mountings.
Works pattern fully braced sump-guard.
Rally seats and 6 point 3” lightweight harnesses.
Laminated front screen, Glass side and Perspex rear windows.
All bodyshell work carried out by Carestoration. gr, with no expense spared.
Engine bay lined with double layer heat shield.
Alloy oil catch tank and tow eyes front and rear.
Diver’s alloy footrest.
Suspension
Front: Bilstein tarmac and gravel struts, 190 x 11. 75 Group 4 springs
4. 25” diameter, Bilstein 260/ 60 inserts, spherical bearing top mounts,
adjustable spherical jointed TCAs, heavy duty anti roll bar and rose
jointed links. Group 2 tube wishbones for tarmac and boxed factory
wishbones for gravel use.
Rear: Factory reinforced axle
143lb springs, Bilstein group 4 220/ 110 spherical bearing shocks, adjustable
rose jointed link, disk brakes on the spare parts packet.
Steering:
Quick rack, with heavy duty tarmac steering arms.
Standard long shaft steering column, with dished leather rim steering wheel.
Engine:
Ford XR2, 1600cc, with Stage 2 head, 39, 5mm inlet and 34mm exhaust valves
with Kent valve springs , retainers and cam followers,
KENT 244K camshaft,
Double vernier time gear set, and double pad tensioner,
High pressure oil pump, steel gasket,
Acralite 81mm forged pistons,
Bosch electronic type w/ o vacuum distributor,
STD conrods, crankshaft and flywheel, dynamic balanced,
Ford inlet manifold,
Weber 45DCOE carbs
Engine built from new parts and run in and set up on dyno . 130HP @8000rpm, 45lbsft torque @6000rpm. (Dyno sheet available).
Gearbox/ Clutch:
4 speed close ratio gearbox, LSD diff with 5. 1 CWP,
Hubs with extra long group 4 studs.
Sachs competition paddle clutch, with heavy duty gearbox mounting.
Competition halfshafts.
Brakes:
2 pot front and rear callipers on ventilated dist as homologation.
Ferodo FRP218 pads,
Hydraulic handbrake
All hydraulic lines and fittings in dash 3 Aeroquip.
Electrical:
Custom loom and control box,
all systems activated by relays and protected by circuit breakers or fuses
all in the central allu console.
FIA cut off switch
Works pattern dash with new mechanical speedometer and all gauges and warning lights as original works cars.
Lighting: Hella twin reflector headlamps, Cibie Super Oscar and Oscar auxiliary amps on works pattern brackets, all with 100 watt halogen bulbs.
Fuel system:
Factory 50 litre tank
twin Facet red top fuel pumps,
high flow pressure regulator and filter, .
Anti siphon vent/ rollover valve..
Complete with FIA HTP dating from 2012 and a history file including race photos.
In superb condition throughout.
