Following the previous ex-RAF mechanic’s ownership of 22 years, including a restoration (photos available, believed to have been carried out in circa 1995), this is a well-cared for V8-250 which has been both used yet also improved in the present ownership.
‘HST’ starts without fuss and drives very nicely, smooth yet strong on the road, the V8 sounding lovely. The power steering is responsive, the gear change is smooth yet positive, Overdrive slick to engage and disengage and the brakes are strong and pull up straight. The interior is smart with good wood, carpet and leather trim yet not too ‘new’ either!
A very nice history file accompanies the car with the Green Logbook, original Daimler service booklets (stamps for servicing from 1968) and showing only 3 previous owners. Overall ‘HST’ presents very well with good paint and bright work and little to detract. Indeed, the only point to note is a small amount of bubbling at the very lower corner/ edge of the rear spats; easily rectified.
A rare manual with overdrive V8-250 in a very striking colour and trim combination and with a very good history file showing a great deal of care and recent maintenance. A drive-away Daimler saloon!
