Description
Presented in the very early 80s, the second generation of the BMW 5 Series is named the E28. There will be a phase 1 up to 1985 and a phase 2 up to 1988, the year when the E28 is replaced by the BMW 5 Series E34. Obviously, there will be different engine options: 518i with 4 cylinders, 520i, 525i and 528i with 6 cylinders and not forgetting the more powerful versions in M535i and M5, the first of the range.
The BMW M535i is developed by the M department and its mechanics are identical to those of the 635 CSi, that is to say a 6-cylinder inline of 3430 cm3 developing 218 hp with character and a superb melody. The BMW E28 was a major commercial success for BMW, which thus continued the momentum of premium cars as we know them today.
NYC's/ OXOTO puts a magnificent example up for sale here, really! Delivered new in April 1986 in Belgium, it has known only 3 Belgian owners. We indeed have the previous Belgian registration certificates and better still: the delivery invoice when it was new! In Polaris Grey, black sport cloth interior, it currently has less than 75, 400 kms. Proof that it is in excellent condition: it was exhibited at the Autoworld museum in December 2017 during the BMW 100-year exhibition (photo available). It is therefore a specimen that truly has its place in a magnificent collection!
The bodywork presents superbly, absolutely nothing to say despite still being in its original paint (see photos with the tester)! It shows no signs of corrosion, nor dents, nor scratches. It has never been involved in an accident either.
The interior is just as pristine, absolutely nothing to say either, whether the sport seats, the dashboard, the centre console, the floor mats, the door trims, etc… like new, really, it shows in the photos. The preservation quality of the interior as well as the exterior is consistent with very low mileage for its age. Everything also works (sunroof operation, radio, etc…).
Regarding the mechanicals, nothing is to be expected; its owner has carried out maintenance and check-ups before putting it up for sale. We also have a good file of maintenance invoices, see photos on our site, as well as on the ramp where you can see that everything is like new!
Note also that it is in original condition and has not been modified mechanically or aesthetically.
