Description
The Triumph Daytona 1000cc is a rare bike, built only from 1991 to the end of 1992, in 500 units, of which 60 were for France. It is the only model to have featured the 1000cc in four cylinders, which is in fact a 750cc with an extra cylinder. It is therefore an exceptionally rare collector's item that is not currently on the market.
My example is in very good condition, it is complete and in its original presentation. The paint, livery and all accessories are in very good condition. The bike is fully functional, the mechanicals are in good order and very pleasant to operate. I bought this motorcycle in January 2023 from a dealer in the 02 (Aisne) department. In June 2022 the bike was the subject of a feature in Youngtimers magazine (the feature is also on YouTube); I own the magazine and will hand it over to the eventual buyer. The dealer who sold it to me had it fully serviced; it had 59, 500 km. Very soon after my purchase, the starter sprag failed. I took the opportunity of this repair to fit new spark plugs, have the carburettor rampe fully serviced with ultrasonic cleaning and replacement of the bore springs, and also replaced the clutch hose (invoice over €1, 000). After the repair the bike was flirting with 60, 000 km. Since then I have had no issues, I only ride for leisurely trips and classic-bike gatherings. I passed the MOT in summer 2024 with no issues. I own two pairs of silencers, the original chrome ones and period-correct MIG aluminium ones (visible in the feature). The bike now has 63, 500 km and the Michelin tyres were new when I got it. Unfortunately I suffered a heart attack this summer and I no longer ride the bike.
I hope to find a genuine enthusiast for this machine, which deserves to be seen at classic-bike gatherings where it always makes an impression. I am seeking a selling price of €4, 500, but we can discuss.
