Description
An Alfa Romeo 2000 was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1957, and produced from 1958 in saloon and cabriolet versions. A coupé version appeared in 1960. The 2000 succeeded the Alfa 1900 produced from 1950 to 1959. The saloons and cabriolets were designed by Touring, to whom Alfa had long been faithful. The coupés were designed by Bertone, and nicknamed Sprint coupés as was the tradition at Alfa Romeo. Production of the 2000 stood at 2, 800 saloons, 3, 400 Spider and 704 Sprint, making it the most sought-after version. Although production stopped in 1962, the Alfa 2000 was still built until 1969 by the Brazilian company F. N. M.
