Description
"Veni, Vidi, Amavi" – (We came, we saw, we fell in love…)
An exceptional story began with the creation of the Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato by Ercole Spada. The Junior Zagato was conceived as a sporty and compact grand tourer. Due to its elongated roofline, the rear seats may not be ideal, but that undoubtedly contributes to the car's spectacular look.
What makes this car truly special is that the Junior Zagato had nothing to do with the Alfa Romeo factory, as it was entirely produced by Zagato himself. The 1600 version is particularly rare, with only 402 examples built in Milan over a three-year period. The Zagato engineering stems from the Alfa 105 series, meaning it shares (almost) everything with the Spider, the Bertone, and the Giulia.
Driving the Zagato is, in our view, almost unbeatable. Its simplicity, its breathtaking design, its precise handling and the distinctive “Alfa roar” deliver immense driving pleasure. If you’re not yet won over, this car will automatically turn you into an Alfista. The mechanics of emotion. Pure-bred!
Ours? A 1600 (!) delivered in Italy and imported to the Netherlands in 1991. It has had two owners there. The last one acquired it in 2002 and has meticulously maintained it to today. It is in unrestored and excellent condition. Will we have the pleasure of seeing you soon?
“We build cars for those who appreciate difference.” – Zagato
