Description

Due to health reasons, it is with regret that I part with my 1968 MGC Roadster, equipped with the prestigious 3. 0-litre six-cylinder engine and endowed with a unique history. This vehicle was indeed built by the factory as a showpiece for the model and was displayed on the MG stand at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show — a detail confirmed by its official Heritage certificate.

It is an authentic European left-hand drive version, matching the original specifications, and not a US import.

After many years of being idle, the car was purchased by its previous owner in 2021. According to him, he invested more than €7, 500 in getting it back on the road (although we do not possess the original invoice to prove it). Nevertheless, many replaced parts are visible:
- Entire braking system overhauled with new calipers, hoses and brake booster.
- Engine rebuilt: it starts without difficulty, runs very well, accelerates strongly, shows good oil pressure, with no smoke or unusual noises — a real pleasure for a 57-year-old mechanicals!
- Entire exhaust system replaced with a brand-new stainless steel system.
- Replacement of fuel lines and tank for increased reliability after prolonged storage.
- New radiator for optimal engine cooling.
- New tyres.

The cabin retains vintage charm with its rare original rubber mats, protected by new over-mats. The seat covers are new and the dashboard and upholstery are in good condition and present well.

The hood is complete and in good condition, with no snags or tears.

Esthetically, the bodywork is presentable but not perfect: the paint has seen a few touches in the past, not aiming for concours d’élégance perfection — there are visible imperfections, but nothing that detracts from the pleasure of driving. The Primrose Yellow colour is indeed the original shade, confirmed by the MG Heritage certificate, and this vehicle does not have Overdrive.

Ready to hit the road, the technical inspection has just been carried out, and the historic vehicle registration is in order in my name.

A unique model for the discerning enthusiast:
In short, this 3. 0-litre MGC should not be confused with its more common “cousin”, the MGB: its powerful engine, its specific running gear, and its factory showroom history make it a sought-after collectible. It is not a museum piece, but a well-used model in good condition, ready to be enjoyed on the road as‑is or aesthetically evolved according to your wishes.

The price of a fine MG-C is around €30, 000, so this one represents a lovely opportunity for someone who wants a roadworthy car to perfect aesthetically.

I’m open to serious offers, I do not want an exchange.
