Description
Marcos GT 1500/ 1600 - 1967
Price: €22, 500
Location: Sommieres (between Nimes and Montpellier)
13 February 1967. Chassis number 5048. Fewer than 100 examples built (1966-1967).
French registration document in my name. A known and listed vehicle in the Marcos Heritage records.
• HISTORY & TRACEABILITY:
Original invoice showing delivery of the kit to John Sprinzel Service (a famous 60s driver and engine builder). Full set of invoices (restoration in the 1990s and recent servicing). The 1500 pre-crossflow engine, replaced at the time with a 1600 crossflow (a common modification confirmed by Rory MacMath of Marcos Heritage Spares Ltd).
• CURRENT CONDITION:
- Chassis (wood): Sound (a crucial point on these models).
- Bodywork: Paintwork with a few imperfections, with a lovely original patina.
- Interior: Neat and clean.
- Mechanical: Runs properly and is very strong. Recent brakes and clutch (Marcos Heritage parts). Rebuilt carburettors. Carb setup is spot on. Starter installation. Electronic ignition. Old wiring loom but everything works. New battery.
- Driving: Original right-hand drive (RHD). Can be converted to LHD for around £2, 500 at Marcos Heritage.
A rare vehicle with a unique design and preserved pre-built architecture (NOT a re-build). Keep it as-is or freshen it up according to your tastes.
I’m available to serious enthusiasts to present the car and go through its specific features in detail.
