Description
Hello,
I'm selling my Fiat Cinquecento Sporting from July 1995. I bought it in October 2024 for €1800 to save it as it had been sitting in a car park for 6-7 years.
It has the Giwasa badge but I'm not sure if it's equipped with the Giwasa chip, I haven't had the chance to put it on a dyno.
A rather fun little sports car to drive, not very powerful (1. 1 55bhp) but lightweight, compact and with a very short-throw gearbox so it's quite entertaining. I'm selling it reluctantly as I'd like to get back to the joys of a carburettor. I already have another Cinquecento 900 anyway.
Since purchase, I've changed and refurbished quite a few things:
-rear silencer replaced with a used one
-new starter motor
-discs+Ferodo DS Performance brake pads+brake caliper+drums+rear brake kit+aviation hose (I supply the rears, to be fitted)+rigid front brake pipes, the rigid centre and rear pipes if you want new ones need to be made+brake fluid flush with DOT 5. 1
-cooling radiator+fan+fan temperature sensor 87°C+thermostat have 2000kms.
-door hinge halves were changed and screws refitted on the driver's side (the door was sagging, there are marks as there's no more yellow paint on the door entry).
-Bumper replaced with a non-cracked one but needs repainting as it's black with residue from other colours. The bumper also has small cracks, up to you if you want to change it
-4 nearly new tyres (2000kms) Yokohama A539, sports profile but suitable for wet conditions are fitted.
-Battery from November 2024
-complete clutch at 2000kms as well as used gearbox (a screw fell into the box during reassembly and destroyed it)+new clutch cable as well.
-Distribution kit water pump and auxiliary belt 2000kms January-February 2025.
-fuel filter 2000kms, engine oil change 2000kms also December 2024 with graphited 10w60 oil
-I refitted an original air box system in place of the cut-out Giwasa part.
-new rocker cover gasket
-Removal of air intake
As for equipment, it has electric windows at the front, manual sunroof with its cover to obstruct it (though the fixing pads need to be re-glued)
TO DO:
Redo the brake fluid flush as I think there's still some air in the circuit (it brakes but not as much as hoped coming from optimised braking, it feels like it's original or nearly so and takes time before it bites). Paint flaking on the roof especially, 2 front cross-member pieces to replace if you want perfection as one of the previous owners had a front impact that bent the cross-member (the chassis rail thankfully is fine). The pedal box is an aluminium one I don't think expensive as it's not of superb quality. The steering wheel leather is cracked, the stalks have whitened a bit from the sun, the plastic of the driver's door pocket is brittle, the driver's seat doesn't escape the rule of Cinquecento Sporting seats. Fuel tank condition to inspect as it's steel and I haven't inspected it inside. I replaced the rear bench backrest as the old one was a bit torn but with a one-piece part instead of 2/ 3-1/ 3, so the support used for the 2/ 3-1/ 3 was cut. A single rust spot to deal with but not yet perforated, inside at the level of the rear bench backrest mounting support on the left side. Otherwise the car is sound. Normally if electric windows there's central locking but the central locking doesn't work. The electric windows work well even though they're not the quickest for raising the last 2-3cm & the lower door window seals are playing up a bit.
Car runs well & drives well.
Registration up to date & MOT will be done for sale. It will pass without issue.
I'm open to a small negotiation.
