Delivered new to the United States, this example has been Europeanised, including conversion of the odometer to kilometres, which has been reset since its restoration and currently displays 500 km.
Owned by an English car enthusiast, the vehicle has just undergone a complete mechanical restoration. It is presented today in remarkable overall condition and features rally equipment inspired by the famous E-Type that competed in the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally, including a roof rack, spare wheel and two "Tag Heuer" chronographs mounted on the dashboard, as well as long-range lights.
Interior Condition:
The completely refurbished cabin exudes period sporting atmosphere. The bucket seats are upholstered in a combination of caramel leather and green tartan fabric that brings a unique character to the whole. The caramel leather door panels are clean and well-fitted. The three-spoke wooden steering wheel with perforated aluminium hub is period-correct and in excellent condition. The black dashboard, typical of the Series 2, features complete instrumentation with a full set of Smiths gauges.
The two Tag Heuer chronographs, mounted on the passenger side of the dashboard, confirm the rally vocation of this example. The rear area with caramel carpeting is clean and uncluttered.
Mechanical Condition:
Beneath the long, characteristic bonnet of the E-Type lies the legendary 4. 2-litre inline six-cylinder with dual overhead camshafts, equipped with three new SU carburettors. The engine bay is presented in a clean and coherent state. The vehicle benefits from a completely professionally restored mechanical system offering optimal performance.
Exterior Condition:
The bodywork is presented in British Racing Green. The door handles and trim elements are in good order. The round front headlights are reinforced with additional chrome rally-style spotlights.
The chrome-spoked wheels are in fine condition, shod with appropriate tyres. A chrome roof rack with strapped spare wheel completes the rally presentation.
