The Aston Martin DB5 is a legend inseparable from cinema, but few people know that a DB4 Series V was actually used during filming of the famous James Bond film 'Goldfinger'. Indeed, when the production team visited the Aston Martin factory in 1963 in search of the first true 'Bond car', they came across a red Aston Martin DB4 (!). They fell head over heels for this car, and the rest is history.
This specific vehicle has a complete history since leaving the factory and is accompanied by its original registration documents, factory archives as well as a substantial file of invoices attesting to the restoration of the bodywork and mechanics carried out in England.
It is equipped from new with the rare and highly sought-after 'Special Series' Vantage engine (with matching numbers), featuring wider valves, increased compression ratio and three SU carburettors, developing 266 bhp at 5, 700 rpm — a gain of 26 bhp over the standard engine.
The current owner acquired the car 17 years ago. The bodywork was repainted in the Netherlands by one of the finest specialist workshops and the interior was restored to the highest quality standards. It is presented in its original 'Fiesta Red' colour and equipped with wide Borrani wire wheels as well as the electric windows option.
The car is ready to take to the road and offers exceptional handling! Dutch registration.
