Description
I’m putting my Bertone Coupé up for sale so I can get a more powerful car – but above all one with an open-top (a 911 Targa or convertible, even if it’s far less original); I’m in no rush because I love this car and parting with it isn’t easy, but to choose is to give something up!
I bought this car in the summer of 2016. Mechanically, it was in excellent condition, with part of the engine block rebuilt in 2015, and I had a large part of the bodywork redone at Daniel Fournier’s, a body shop run by a colleague of Claude Busson, an Alfa Romeo specialist.
All my servicing and repairs are documented. (Mostly before I owned it, mainly with Claude Busson, and since his retirement with VEC Racing)
The engine block is original (the upper part of the engine was overhauled before I bought it in 2015) and the paintwork was partially repainted 10 years ago but in the original colour, Verde Muschio – an English green on an Italian car. Everything is matching numbers.
The seats are in high-quality leather (reupholstered by a seat upholsterer in Paris in 2006); tobacco colour. Apart from the car radio, everything is original. I had it registered as a classic in 2024. Minor faults: cracked dashboard panel, window seals, worn floor mats.
I am the fifth owner: the first owner is said to have owned it for the first 20 years up to 1991, and I have a record of maintenance costs dating from 1991 – that is, for the past 35 years; The second owner owned it from 1991 to 2005 in Angoulême, the third from 2005 to 2012, and the previous owner from 2012 to 2016 in Paris.
