The Appeal
The sixth generation Mustang, particularly the 5L V8 as here, is lauded by reviewers for its surprisingly good handling, courtesy of multilink rear suspension, and decent levels of comfort. That it also cleverly updates the original coupe’s style certainly adds to its appeal.
The vendor acquired this bespoke, upgraded 5L V8 when it was new in 2017 whilst living in California. He imported it to the UK in 2021. It has covered a mere 12,500 miles in the intervening eight years. That sparing use has kept this eye-catching car in extremely good condition.
The aesthetics and upgrades are key to its appeal. The vendor wanted to evoke the style of the GT350 but with the versatility of an automatic gearbox, which wasn’t available on the GT350. Finished in Magnetic Metalic grey with racing stripes, side skirts, spoilers and upgraded alloys, it is certainly a stand-out car. Inside there is a well-appointed black leather cabin with carbon and suede highlights. The specification includes Voodoo intake manifold, Stage 3 engine upgrade, and numerous Cervini and MP Concepts body modifications.
We’re told that the car was maintained by specialist West Coast Mufflers whilst in the USA and by Ian Goss American during its time in the UK. The MOT runs to November 2026 with no advisories. This is a potent American muscle car with the looks to match the performance.
The vendor says:
“This is a rare, low-mileage, enthusiast-owned S550 Mustang with a cohesive and professionally executed GT350-spec upgrade, and outstanding condition. It is one of the cleanest, best-presented, and best-maintained modified Mustangs currently available in the UK.”

The vendor says:
“This is an exceptional, collector-grade example of a 2017 Ford Mustang GT Premium, finished in Magnetic Metallic with just 12,000 miles from new. Purchased brand new in California by the current owner and imported to the UK in 2021, this car has been cherished, professionally detailed, and is presented in immaculate showroom condition.
“Tastefully upgraded to GT350 specification, this Mustang uniquely retains its automatic gearbox with paddle shifters — a combination never offered on the GT350 — giving you GT350 character with automatic convenience. This was a deliberate choice by the owner, preferring the GT350’s style and performance without sacrificing an automatic transmission.
All work was completed by recognised specialists: West Coast Muffler in California prior to import, and Ian Goss American (Ford GT40 & performance Mustang specialist) after arrival in the UK. All upgrades and servicing are fully documented.”
