The Appeal
Much like the Volkswagen Type 2 in mainland Europe, the Bedford CA is the quintessential British light commercial vehicle of the post-war era. Here we have something incredibly rare: a "woody" created by Kenex Coachbuilders from the Bedford CA 12 Seater van. Known as the "Aristocrat", this van is registered as a "shooting break". The vendor understands it to be the only one on UK roads.
Unsurprisingly, this rare machine has attracted considerable interest in the classic commercial world, having been featured prominently in two magazines, copies of which are included in the sale.

Our van was restored in 2012 and has been garage-stored ever since, helping to preserve its condition over the intervening years. The current owner acquired it in 2019 and has recently had the brake system overhauled. There are some age-related items to be aware of, but this Bedford CA Aristocrat nonetheless represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a fine piece of British commercial vehicle heritage.
