Beskrivning
When first introduced the 456 was the fastest production four seater in the world, a great combination of power and comfort yet with the Pininfarina’s styling still kept the looks of a two seater sports car. Powered by a relatively un-stressed 5. 5 Litre V12 provided close to 450 bhp enough to take it up to around 190 mph.
This example was supplied via Maranello Concessionaires in September 1996 to the first owner in Malaysia. On its return to the UK in 1999 then showing circa 4000 kms the 456 has been the subject of continuous service and maintenance at regular intervals including the cam belt changes. The extensive history file also includes every MOT since arriving back in the UK.
In 2001, it was sold to a Mr Richard Grant in Dunstable with an odometer reading of 18220 kms. During his ownership he performed 2 services and cam belt changes before it was sold to the previous owner showing circa 20000 kms who used the car sparingly though naturally kept up the servicing.
When the present owner bought the car in July 2014, he entrusted marque expert Bob Houghton to conduct a more thorough and extensive programme of works which amounted to circa £40k pounds. These works carried out in 2015 also included the changing of the Kms gauge to one in miles. Since then, it has been used for only a further 500 miles.
Finished in its original and highly desirable colour combination of Blue Swaters with cream interior, this understated and refined tourer covers the distance in an effortless fashion. What is also noteworthy is that there are very, very few Ferraris nowadays that can be bought for less than their list price when new. This seems an anomaly with 456’s generally but in particular this car that has been the subject of such lavish, recent expenditure.
