Description
My father has asked me to list his Thunderbird. Here is the Listing:The car is located in Seattle Washington.
1966 Ford Thunderbird Town Hardtop
Seattle area car it’s whole life. Current owner, my father is a retired, 100% disabled Vietnam War Veteran who can no longer enjoy driving his classic car.
Lots of documentation going back to the first owner, including the invoice, window sticker and Protect-O-Plate. Lots of original brochures and other documents as well. 85k original miles, which I believe to be correct due to documentation. Car was stored for a decade in the 90's, being started occasionally. Honeydew yellow with black interior. 390 V8, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes with front discs, power door locks, power side windows and vents, over head safety panel plus all the standard features. This T-Bird does NOT have A/ C.
Most of the car is an untouched, rust free original. Items replaced to date are the carburetor, better flowing radiator, water pump, windshield washer pump, fuel sending unit, starter, headliner, trunk mat but all of the original parts were kept. Car has had routine service. Most of the paint we believe is original, some panels looked to have been repainted, and areas of the car have been brush touched. All glass looks to be original. Even the exhaust is original! Everything works well with exception to the clock which only works occasionally.
We are not in any rush to sell, and will continue to sparingly drive the car. We have clean and clear Washington State title in the owner’s name. Since we are not automotive experts, a buyer’s inspection is suggested, and we have a shop nearby that specializes in classics we can recommend at buyers expense. For out of State buyers, Sea-Tac airport is close, and we can pick you up, then you can enjoy a nice drive back to your home. Fuel tank is full, and tires have lots of tread. Included in the sale are a nice car cover, all the original parts, and three sets of keys.
An inspection was completed, and other than a few wet areas around the engine, they found a vacuum leak in the brake booster, The car runs and drives really well.
You could buy a basket case for $6000, and invest thousands of dollars, and still not have a car as nice as this. As my father found out, T-Bird parts are not cheap!
We have lots of photos of the car that can be emailed to you.
Car is being sold "AS IS", with no warranty implied or given.
The dark spots on the drivers fender is only shadows from the trees to the East of me. The pictures were taken in the morning with the sun coming up.
Title, and or car will not be released until all funds have cleared.
Thanks for looking!
We will only respond to emails that include a name and phone number.
