We are delighted to offer for sale this Series 2a, presented in the most popular colour scheme. On the outside, the vehicle has a better than usual paint finish, evidently being that of a spray type rather than a brush. A recent canvas has been fitted, along with a new galvanised front bumper, vintage plates, rear mudflaps, free wheeling hubs (to aid economy and reduce wear) and rear grab handles. A towball and electrics has been fitted, and a rear step is fitted to allow easy rear-loading. The vehicle sits on a set of recent road-biased tyres, ideal for all-round use.
On the inside, there are a set of three recent front standard seats, with deluxe matting to the footwells. The doors have been fitted with cards with additional armrest, which is a nice touch and aids with sound-deadening inside the cabin. A heater is fitted to the passenger footwell, of the original 'clayton' style which helps with the coldest of days. The rear houses the spare on the back of the bulkhead, with a load mat to the floor. The rear is unfitted otherwise, however bench seats could be fitted for £295, making this a seven seater vehicle including the driver. There has been a smaller steering wheel fitted to allow for a larger driver.
Out on the road, this vehicle drives just as a period Series 2a should - and delivers a pleasing period driving experience, all things considered. It stops and goes just as it should. The benefit of a performance unleaded head gives a little extra poke when getting to speed.
