- I bought the car 3 years ago and have invested over $25, 000 in repairs and maintenance.
- The previous owner had painted the body of the car in 1991 and it was stored, covered and garaged the entire time.
- The car has upgraded Recaro bucket seats. In addition, I also have the original bucket seats.
- It is in beautiful condition as you can see from the pictures.
- The repairs I have made include:
Fuel System - New gas tank, fuel hoses, fuel sender
Front Suspension - New ball joints, front shocks, wheel alignment
Rear Suspension - Rear shocks and new torsion arm bushings
Brakes - Front & Rear callipers rebuilt, new master cylinder, all new braked flex hoses
Body Work - All body parts that showed signs of rust and comprised metal on the underbody of the car were replaced. New front gas tank supports and suspension mounts. Left and right rear torsion tube kits installed.
Engine - Two new carbs installed, new distributor cap, ignition rotor, plug wire set, fuel pump rebuilt, engine gasket set
Hood / Decklid - two front hood strut, rear deckled strut
Axles - 2 new axels
Tires & Wheels - 4 new Fuchs wheels and new tires
- Porsche 912 story - As production ceased on the 356 model in 1965 and the introduction of the much more powerful and expensive 911 replacement, Porsche and its advertisers were worried that the price jump would be too much for consumers to handle so the introduction of the 912 was born.
- It used the same styling, body and structure of the 911 except it was lighter and more nimble.
- It outsold the 911 for a couple years until mindsets caught up with the technology and price of the 911.
- It was produced initially from 1965 through 1969 until the 914 was debuted as Porsches entry level model.
- It was later brought back for a one-year only after the 914 was discontinued in 1976.
- The 912's are becoming harder and harder to find in stock original condition because they were the cheaper cars and people were not afraid to cut them up and turn them in to race and rally cars.
- It is believed to be a three owner car with the last owner having the car in his possession for more that 25 years. This car is in excellent running and driving condition.
- I would be willing to drive this car anywhere.
