For sale is my Mercedes W112 300se Lang. It's an unrestored 1964 car with the 6-plunger fuel injection system. The car lived in Sweden it's entire life until last year when I had it imported to the UK. The car is gloss black with a grey corduroy interior. The interior is simple but stylish, with wind up windows yet wooden door cappings and surrounds. Everything works with the exception of the interior light time delay function (a common relay fault). During my ownership I have replaced the four air suspension springs and shock absorbers, front sub-frame mounts, engine and gearbox mounts, rear differential mounting, anti roll-bar drop links and track control arms. The tyres were replaced with new Michelin X (a period fitment). The gearbox was leaking and this has been rebuilt with new gaskets. The engine was suffering with high crankcase pressure due to a damaged piston and liner. I have spent the summer undertaking a comprehensive engine rebuild, including new liners, pistons, main and big-end bearings, timing chain, valve guides and gaskets. The engine has been transformed and the car is a joy to drive with direct, pin-sharp steering, compliant, absorbent suspension and smooth power delivery. I have some original Swedish ownership documentation but the drivers manual is missing. Overall, the bodywork is solid but has the patina of 55 years, with scratches and surface rust spots. The underside is remarkably solid by Fintail standards with original bitumen sealant applied from new. It's by no means perfect but has benefited from living in an environment where the roads are not gritted with salt in the winter. So, overall a very rare, unmolested and original 300SE Lang.
