We are delighted to have the opportunity to be selling this stunning and unique appreciating classic, the Ford Fiesta XR2! This example has been meticulously well looked which is reflected in the condition, and most importantly comes with full, extensive, documented service history (Over 20 Services and timing belt change last year) since 1988, the year the car was first registered. The Mk2 was the second-generation Fiesta first introduced in 1983, a slight facelift of the Mk1. The year after Ford brought out the upgraded model, with a larger body kit and 1. 6 L engine which was previously seen in the Ford Escort XR3. The XR2 then had another midlife revamp in 1986 which involved the engine being replaced by a new-lean burn engine, prompted by new emission laws at the time. The interior changes included slight change in trims and upholstery moving to the blue striped “Monaco” pattern, and a centre console change. This example benefits from the sought after “pepper pot” alloy wheel which has a full set of Pirelli P6’s. The post 1986 model with upgrades, is the model variant that we are presenting to you, as the car was first registered in 1988, so after the changes of 1986 and before production ended in 1989. This car has had 5 owners in total, the first two owners (same family) owned the vehicle right up until 2008 so they had the car for 20 years, then was owned by another gentleman for 5 years until 2013, the next owner until 2018 and has been with the current owner since.
