Auto Umbau purchased the car from Greatworth Classics, where the car had sat for two years, following a very minor accident, which resulted in a scrape down the right hand side, the front and rear wings were dented and the door had a tear in it. The door is with us so the new owner can see there was no structural damage to this car. Auto Umbau have repaired the damage to our top standard, by pulling out the dents in the wings and replacing the door. There was no cutting and welding in of new panels, so is structurally sound. The car had had no paint repair work prior to this accident (we measured it), but has now been resprayed all the way round, to remove the usual wear and tear, stone chips etc and is now in mint condition
The whole repair process has been recorded and will appear in 911 & Porsche world magazine on how to repair a car properly. The car has also benefitted from extensive service work, including engine and gearbox out, IMS, RMS replacement, major service including a brake system overhaul. In total just under 135 hours of work and £££ was spent putting this car right, less than 20 hours was in repairing the dented, panels. This is fully documented and will be supplied with the car. Most 996’s out there will need this level of work, and this one has had everything done and more ready to be enjoyed, worry free by its new owner.
The car is at Auto Umbau Porsche in Silsoe Bedfordshire and is available for viewing by appointment only. Please contact us on the details below if you are interested in purchasing and to arrange a viewing.
