Description
Unfortunately, it’s time to sell my beloved 2CV. I’ve had her for almost 8 years and in that time I have carried out extensive work, most notably a replacement galvanised chassis from 2CV City. I bought her as an MOT failure and the previous owner, despite loving her unconditionally, did not have the time or resources to put her back on the road. I have used her relatively infrequently but have enjoyed every minute. When I bought her, she was described as ‘in her working clothes’ and that is exactly how she presents today. My aim was to have her mechanically sound with a structurally excellent body. I believe I have achieved that and more. Recent expenditure includes a brand new set of Michelin X tyres accompanied by a new set of genuine Citroen steel wheels (£500 +), rear shock absorbers and CV boots. She drives very well and has just been treated to a full MOT with a clean sheet. With prices reaching £12, 000 - £15, 000 for pristine examples, I have priced her very sensibly to reflect her imperfect (which I like) condition. This is a Paris built car, not to be confused with the slightly later examples built in Portugal which were renowned for poor build quality. The speedo is showing 61, 000 which I believe is genuine. There is a good history file with her which details much of my spends and has a nice little story, previous owner..... would you believe, a school teacher. How stereotypical, which is great! She is a ‘Special’ model, but I upgraded to Charleston seat covers (how posh!) and someone prior has added the ‘Dolly’ lettering but as I say, she is in fact a ‘Special’ She is ready to use and enjoy, but if you wished, for not a lot of money she could be painted which would elevate her significantly in value. I have made a short YouTube ‘walk-round’ video which highlights the imperfections, please feel free to email me for the link. Thanks for reading.
