very early pre-facelift Capri.
This car is the 4th oldest Capri in the country, all of which were built in December 1968, making it a pre-launch car, 1st registered in Feb 1969. Cassis number still present on strut top. The engine and gearbox were changed in the early 80s to a 2. 0 Pinto and 5 speed type 9 box. The engine is really good, also had new rad and water pump, also new timing belt and tensioner pully, the gear box is also very good, no nasty noise. the axle is a 3. 44 ratio atlas axle, which has been refurbished. Mechanically the car is excellent condition, brakes all good with new flexible hoses.
The interior is good, drivers seat re-upholstered, other seats in fair condition with no holes or rips.
Bodywork is good, no rust anywhere, has had rear arches replaced and new scuttle panel corners. paint work is ok, but uneven in places. fully painted underneath and wax oil in chassis rails and doors.
This cars not perfect but a nice drivable classic, always gets plenty of attention.
