- A Lovely car, well sorted, drives well, new top....
- The car on offer here is a 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible. The car is in very nice “driver” condition.
- The car has been sympathetically restored over the years. It has been refinished in metallic burgundy over a black vinyl interior and is powered by an air-cooled 164ci flat-six paired with a four-speed manual transaxle (originally, the car came stock with an automatic).
- New equipment includes a black soft top, a retro-style radio, and an electric fuel pump. The most recent service includes replacement of the clutch in August 2018.
- This Corvair is offered in Connecticut with a clean CT transferable registration.
- Originally Azure Aqua, and the car was refinished in its current metallic burgundy 1980 and 2000.
- The paint is good, with deep shine and luster, though there are some minor blemishes around the car.
- The rear-mounted, air-cooled 164ci flat-six features a chrome air cleaner and cover, generator, and an aftermarket distributor. An electric fuel pump has been added according to the seller.
- The engine starts easily, runs well with good power and torque.
- Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox, and as noted above, the clutch was replaced in 2018.
- The body plate decodes as follows: -1964 Corvair Monza 900 convertible -Willow Run, Michigan final assembly -Aqua vinyl interior (now Black) -White soft top -Azure Aqua paint (now red) -Tinted windshield -Powerglide transmission (converted to 4-speed -manual) -Padded dash This is an excellent car.
- It is cosmetically and mechanically very nice. It starts easily, has good power and torque and handles well.
