1956 Bentley four door Saloon by James Young, chassis B275AP, engine BA387, design B10, body 4004, Shell Grey over Caribbean Blue with grey interior. All matching numbers. Indicated mileage : 80348.
This Bentley 1956 Sports Saloon by James Young was one of 26 B10 design delivered by James Young with their handcrafted lightweight aluminum Sports Saloon coachwork. Hand-formed fenders were integrated into the overall aluminum body design, as well as the doors, roof and bonnets. These Bentleys had distinctive square push buttons on the door and boot handles. This car is a rare B10 design with discreet tail-fins on the top of the rear wings. Combined with an automatic gearbox and factory power assisted steering, Chassis B275AP with body n° 4004 was converted from right-hand drive to left-hand drive. The conversion with factory parts was done during the 10 years that the car was imported in the USA in the nineties. This car is the only left-hand drive James Young S1 with design no. B10.
The Bentley was sold to Andre Fluckiger, a Swiss banker, in February 1956.
In 1995 car was exported to California and came back to the Continent in 2002 (in The Netherlands).
In 2005 Coys auction at Maastricht in Holland and sold to the President of the National Conservatory for Historic Vehicles in Luxembourg who owned the car until 2020.
