How rare is this? A UK supplied and registered 2 door GT. Not only that, a Mechanically sorted running and driving car, a project yes, but one you can test drive or drive home if you are brave.
Owned by a Lady for around 35 years and always maintained in perfect mechanical condition by her friend the mechanic,
Restored with new wings and new doors, new bonnet and rear arches, still on original sills and floors, more than 20 years ago and just around 3 years ago a full engine rebuild with uprated cam shaft, new pistons plus 20 thou, weber 26/ 32 on new manifold and 3 branch exhaust.
Crank reground minus 10 thou.
Gearbox rebuilt with a new clutch, new brakes and not used since. It runs, drives and stops spot on.
It needs some new metal in places, but no new panels and nothing to difficult, new paint and a new vinyl roof.
Inside only the drivers seat is worn and cracked, the rest is very tidy.
Other than the engine mods a complete as original last of the Hillman marque 2 door genuine GT.
No Idea of value, there is nothing been around for years to compare it with, far more scarce than a Tiger, DVLA records show 1 licensed, 3 SORN, but this was available in 4 door too.
