this 1973 mgb mk2 roadster was first built by ken costello with original specifications paired with a 3. 5 rover engine.
then in 1991 it got fully restored by mister costello himself and powered by a 240 bhp 3. 9 rover motor by oselli.
this very particular mg, which original registration number was sld 887 l, has driven less than 26, 000 miles eversince.
by the way, in addition with its french registration, the car still has its english v5 and registration plates.
here is a list of the modifications made by oselli, amounting to an invoice of nearly 10, 000 gbp:
• 224 kent cam
• adjustable pushrods
• polished and ported cylinder heads
• steel rockers
• high rev lifters
• tuffrided & balanced crank
• conrods stress relieved & balanced
• lightened and balanced flywheel
• holley 390 cfm carbureted
• dual plane offenhauser inlet manifold
and tubular sports exhaust headers.
the car is equipped with:
• a 4 speed + overdrive gearbox
• a limited slippery differential on mgc axle
• a cloth soft top with a removable glass
• black leather seats paired with black carpets
• wooden dashpad
it also has front and rear telescopic shock absorbers as well as anti-tramp bars.
the car is absolutely rust free and the paint from 1991 still shining bright.
mechanically tough and reliable, the dark red monster by costello offers strong and impressive accelerations. Yet, thanks to all chassis upgrades, it is quite safe with an excellent road handling !

as it can be noticed with one of the inclosed documents the car was "authentified" by mister ken costello himself.
this mg has been registered in france since 2010, and carefully maintained so far.
4 brand new tyres were fitted in november 2021.
it is very documented with around 50 pages (service history invoices, oselli invoices, letter by ken costello, mots since 1980, insurance services...).
until the year 2010 this beautiful costello only has had 2 owners in the uk.
then a very close french friend of mine purchased the car and kept it for 11 years.
out of 270 gts and 35 roadsters built by costello only 17 roadsters are supposed to be still remaining (see register).
which makes this car an authentic rarity.
the very detailed expert report dated 09/ 30/ 2021 shows a value of 55, 000 euros (around 46, 000 gbp).
