I was born 3rd September 1951 as CJV 74, an 80 inch with a 2 litre engine and a canvas top. JV are the registration letters for Lincoln, East Anglia. The dealer was PH & AH Bloomer in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. I underwent a full body lifting in 2004, but whenever meaningful the original parts were kept, leaving all the desirable patina.
My life started to be filled with excitement as I was auctioned on 16 September 2011 at Bonhams Goodwood Revival, Chichester, to Marshbrook Ltd, Chelsea, London , in which Eric Clapton was one of the 3 Directors.
Dunsfold DLR, (they closed business in 2021) was commissioned for a further thorough technical upgrade, as I had 89, 687 miles on the clock. The work is outlined on several invoice pages in very detailed fashion.
In 2013 I was to become the muse of a friend overseas, in Ontario/ Canada. He had a few other muses, thus was willing to pass me on in 2015 to my present keeper who then also lived in Canada, but moved to Scotland in 2019, where I stay faithfully in a heated garage. Despite the fact I only added about 900 miles on the clock since 2012, I undergo a regular health check up, with new brake shoes and a full set of 5 original period Avon Traction Mileage tyres in 2021. Of course chassis, bulkhead, engine and anything else you think of is in mint condition.
I should also mention that in 2017 I was fitted with period trafficators, which is kind of “icing on the cake”. But anyhow the trafficators are more a “show piece” as the non-period indicators remain of course in use, for everyone’s safety.
I am very proud of having been over the years extremely well looked after, leaving my age related beautiful patina. I am grateful to my unique provenance which made me a desirable one of a kind muse.
For a full set of pictures and detailed infos my present keeper will be happy to assist you. I wonder which country will be my next destination! any reasonable price offer will be considered, so please do not be shy to get into touch.
