RUST IS FAKE - RUST IS FAKE - RUST IS FAKE
Word of warning - If you don't know or don't understand the nature of XJS model, you haven't researched the network and forums and you are not planning to do any tweaks or services by yourself - stay away from this platform. Price negotiable on the amount of "hardware that comes with it / amount you're willing to leave behind.
This is a genuine sale of a genuine car, with genuine metal still under the paint (not fake MOT-d rot-box). A jaguar XJS visible on the photos - extremely rare and collectable Motorhead Edition. It has rear anti-roll bar and indestructible steering rack bushes from factory - so I believe this is a genuine Sport Pack edition. It was also having some stripes on both sides before these were covered in something more modern - apparently this is important for some psychos out there, hence mentioned. It has AJ6 3. 6 engine, most powerful and most reliable in XJS platform (9DPANA) - equipped with MAF sensor, without catalytic converter and Lambda. High power, no emission restrictions. It has fully operational ABS system that probably saved my life, twice (if you're afraid of Teves mk3 ABS system just because you've read too many old people's opinion on the forums - you will get a spare system with the car).
It has a low mileage, it is fully roadworthy and has a real MOT made each year (not that I'm suggesting that most of XJS models in UK would never pass a real MOT test no-no...). I'm a big fan of this model, not due to a British brand, not due to TV series, but simply because it's the best value-for-money these days. It' a true entertainment for every individual willing to find a mechanical hobby and it is built in the way that allows hobby fiddling without any special tools or lifting equipment. There is plenty of how-to guides across the Internet, globally.
I'm owning it since 2014 with a few years break, when it went to the new owner - to be purchased back as I couldn't find any XJS close to its condition within price range up to £8k. Considering age - it's in very good condition, both structurally and machanically. There are few "mods" installed intetnionally to express the character of the car as it is, however these are fully reversible. There is a genuine paint under "stylish coating". Rust, rivets entire rest is fake. You can remove it within one winter porbably. My intention is to preserve the car regardless of the look (no intentional damage).
Everything made to the car - is documented with photos, mosts of the parts were replaced just to get the joy and obtain achievement badge, allow future reliability. New and most important: water pump, reconditioned headlamps, radiator's fan with clutch, fuel hoses, seals, thermostat, exhaust mufflers, all coil springs, shocks, bushes, bearings, steering rack seals, heater matrix, brake accumulator etc. This was done over the last 3 years, more things I don't remember now... The car is fully rustproofed that include underside and additional holes drilled to coat he inner profiles. I have something that most of classic car owners 'somehow' won't have - pictures BEFORE and after. Lots of photos from repairs, strips and repaints (7+Gb) All typical consumables like filters, spark plugs, oils, belts, fluids - changed once per year. Car is being run only on premium fuel with anti-ethanol additive and Castrol Valvemaster+.
I'm not a professional mechanic - hence I'm not messing up things while looking at the watch. I'm fixing it myself. I'm also fixing other people's XJSs just for a joy. I'm having a good office job and playing around with this car is a hobby.
Unfortunately, my hobby's time allowance is shrinking and I have noticed that car's annual milage is next to nothing.
Car must be seen to be fully appreciated. There is still plenty of things to do with it, but rather small jobs made as restoration, not due to something failing suddenly. I have a collection of new and salvaged parts for XJS model, however due to the 'collection' size these must be a subect of separate negotiation (probably you can build 2 additional XJSs with it...) due to size and value (f. eg 2x automatic gearboxes ZF4HP22, one rebuild with new friction plates, rings, seals and bearings - just scope for the price...) I'll drop some of these to the purchase. All the genuine interior parts are taken out and stored - allowing "reverse design" - these will be also included (heavily modified parts currently on the car to give more expression).
Any questions / inspection - welcome (boot stripped from rubbish carpenter's dream - everything visible).
I am not a lunatic thinking or hoping that I will get all the time and finances spent for this car back - with sale price. As XJS owner and club member - I can only reassure that you shoud check this deal, it costs nothing.
