We are delighted to present for sale this soft top Land Rover® 90, presented in the ex-military colour scheme with recent sand canvas.
Externally, there are lots of desirable features – the bonnet mounted spare, larger door mirrors, rear grab handles and recent canvas to name just a few. There are some desirable modern additions, such as a towbar and electrics and a set of Goodyear G90 tyres are fitted, with matching bonnet spare – these are very expensive, grippy and hugely desired which were fitted by the military as a cross-climate compromise, for the best off and on road capability. We think the combination of all these items creates a good looking 90, which looks just the part.
On the inside, there are a pair of twin highback seats with central cubby box, which is handy for storage and has cupholders, which is handy for the drive through! Deluxe matting is fitted to the footwells. The rear houses a pair of rear bench seats, with a load mat to the floor area, to protect against scratches. As the photos show, the interior is in good order. It even has a pair of front sunvisors for the driver and passenger – a nice touch which isn’t often seen.
Out on the road, these 90s really drive a cut above the Series marque – with coil springs giving a much improved ride, and a five speed all-synchro gearbox instead of a four speed unit – this means you can follow the traffic flow without feeling as though you are holding it up… and so they represent a good compromise for those wanting the classic look with more modern capabilities. Thankfully, even though this 90 boasts these modern features, it is before the days of troublesome sensors and ECU’s, meaning they are far simpler and cheaper to repair than later models.
In summary, if you are looking for a Land Rover® 90 which can carry the whole family, whilst also being easier to drive than a Series and able to take off the top for the summer months, then this could be for you. With classic insurance, it should prove cheap to run and with tax and MOT exemption just a few years away, it looks a very attractive prospect indeed.
