Finished in Opalescent Maroon with Full Contrasting Beige Leather, this series 1 Coupe was imported from California back to Great Missenden in February 1989. Due to climate she was kept in she is totally free from rust, dents or filler. An all original matching numbers car in original factory colours, all panels and wheels are original.
On arrival to the UK the car undertook a left to right hand drive conversion, along with a painstaking full restoration that took a number of years to complete. This included a stainless steel exhaust system, full body work strip and reassemble, full repaint in original colour, new bright works as and where required.
Over the years the car has continued to be well maintained by the current owner who has had the car for 33 years. The most recent works in 2021/ 2022 have included the following :-
New alternator, brake servo, clutch and brake bottles, water hoses, brake hoses, high torque starter motor, coil, plugs, points, timing chains, oil pump, water pump, pistons, rings and con rods, big end shells, valves, water pump housing, carburettors overhauled and new rubbers, new tyres, the differential has been fully overhauled and it benefits from Cooper brakes all round.
A really well presented example of this appreciating classic.
