This is a rare opportunity to purchase a genuine Riley Factory made car (this is confirmed by the stamping on the chassis of the original car number which correctly starts with 60D).
Only 503 4 seater Riley Dropheads were made from 1949-1951 & it is reported that only approx 50 still exist.
Following its return to the UK, this car has been expertly restored by a Riley enthusiast (my father) who had already restored a RME and a RMD RHD. The restoration was completed in 2006 and along with a matching Riley RMD Right Hand Drive, these cars were primarily used for Weddings & Proms etc.
It retains the original engine, gearbox & rear axle & of course its chassis, brakes & front suspension.
It is fitted with the 2443cc twin cam inline 4-cyclinder engine, twin SU carburettors giving 100bhp at 4400rpm, 4-speed manual transmission, torsion bar front suspension, live rear axle & 4-wheel drum brakes. The internal seats & hood have all been expertly restored.
It had a new MOT in May 2022 - to confirm it's road worthiness and is fit for immediate use. It's only been driven a few miles since the MOT - just to ensure its maintained, being in garage storage the rest of the time. Having previously been used as a wedding car, it has a few additions to make it safer & more comfortable. These can be easily removed by the new owner, if required.
