1930 ROLLS ROYCE 20/25 H.J. MULLINER SEDANCA DEVILLE For Sale

1930 Rolls Royce 20/ 25 H. J. Mulliner Sedanca DeVille

Chassis number: GTR4

Registration Number: TRN111

Under the care of the last custodian for 25 years; this is a very original low mile car now being sold as part of the late owners estate. The owner had many Vintage Rolls Royce cars prior to his passing & was very adept at looking after them & keeping them in impeccable order.

This car is in simply superb condition with a silent engine that has been re-sleeved & fitted with genuine Rolls-Royce Pistons. At the same time a new rocker shaft was fitted & the rockers re-bushed. A new correct honeycomb style radiator care was also installed along with a new exhaust system.

The car has been fitted with overdrive so is very very relaxed at speed. The one shot is in perfect working order & the engine runs in silence & is very powerful. It starts readily off the switch even after it has been standing for some while attesting to excellent compression & set up of the ignition system.

The history for the car is known from new & is extensive. First owner was Mrs Louise Haram who resided at 2 Heathgate in Hampsted NW11. A picture of her imposing residence is below. She then bequeathed the car to her Chauffeur, one Alfred Kimpton who quickly passed the car on to a John Fry-Bourne who owned the car from 1961 to 1971. After that the history is detailed & complex with the car passing though the hands of a number of well known traders & also having brief sojourns in Japan & Belgium, being bought by the last owner in 1997

Coachwork takes the form of an elegant close coupled Sedanca DeVille by noted builders H. J. Mulliner of Chiswick. The body is in sound robust condition with solid timbers & doors that close with a thunk. The front is upholstered in patinated blue leather. To the rear is plush blue velour to the rear seats, door cards & also to the twin fold out occasional seats. The dash unusually is veneered in Burr Elm.

Exterior paint is Oxford Blue over French Grey with the paint being older but very presentable. The creased wings are particularly elegant & the car has 4 separate side steps for use when alighting from the car. Dual side mount spares are fitted giving an imposing frontal appearance. To the rear is a large motoring trunk.

Possibly the best part about this car is the way it drives. You really have to come & see drive & experience it to appreciate how good it is mechanically.

The car named "The Olympian" took part in the closing ceremonies at the Recent London Olympics as attested to by a letter from then Prime Minister David Cameron. It was also reviewed by no lesser person then the late HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh at Windsor Castle during a Rolls Royce drive past.

The current number plate is being retained by the daughters of the late owner so a new plate will be assigned by DVLA; possibly XAN83. The current plate is not original to the car. An assortment of tools come with the car & a Lucas oil can is in situ on the under-tray in the engine compartment.
