Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000. Custom. 1980 V Reg showing 92000 miles and 6 previous. We have the V5, which states Escort RS Custom, and an old MSA logbook with it. Other than that there is no other history or paperwork with it. The car is a useable example and was used by the current owner during the summer to attend a few shows. If your looking for a concours car its probably not for you, but then again they are now around 45 to 60K. If your looking for a useable example read on.....
Body - MK2 Escort RS. Looks to have the correct brackets and strengthening plates on it. Floors are good underneath with no signs of any holes or rot. Possibly had a repair on front floors in the past but otherwise looks pretty good underneath. Vin number still visible on strut top. Paintwork is fairly tidy. Bonnet sits a little high on drivers side. Passenger side door looks to have had some sort of repair on front edge or maybe a new door skin not fitted the best. Mechanics - Pinto engine with alloy sump. alloy bellhousing , mounts. Starts and runs fine and was used for a few car shows last year. Original 4 speed box still fitted. Correct rear axle with tramp bars.
Interior - Fishnet recaros look to have been retrimmed at some point and are very tidy. Good dash top. Door cards are uncut but one side has chrome strip missing. RS dash and all gauges work. Good RS steering wheel. Headcloth isnt ripped but could do with being tightened up at the corners.
Wheels - Refurbished RS alloys with dove grey centres and Yokohama tyres.
Overall as previously mentioned this is a useable example. Ive seen restoration projects go through auction at similar or more money. Please feel free to come and see it. We can put it up on the ramp. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
