1979 Ford Escort RS2000. Good looking car which was restored a number of years ago and recently had an underbonnet refresh we are told. We have the V5 here, but no real history. The car was driven over 200 miles to us yesterday and never missed a beat. Its a really good looking straight car, which is fairly standard.
Body - Later style RS shell with smaller hole strut tops. Body is really straight, paintwork looks really good. Very good underneath which was done in body colour when it was restored a long time ago, but could do with a good clean down. Panel gaps are good. Underbonnet area has just been redone. Its a car thats had repairs over the years but is solid and tidy, but by no means concours..
Mechanics - 2. 0 Pinto which appears to be standard. Car starts , runs and drives well. It pulls well and as previously mentioned was driven over 200 miles to get to us from the Scottish Highlands.. Gearbox is still the standard 4 Speed.. All standard suspension and brakes from what I can see.
Interior - Fishnet Recaros which have been refurbished. Rear seat was done to match. Good door cards, headlining, carpet and dash top. Clocks are the correct orange needle type and all gauges are working. Has the clock and pod and centre console fitted. Really tidy car inside.
Wheels - Brand new 7 Inch JBW RS Replicas with 185 60 13 Toyo Proxy tyres. Wheels havent done a mile as we had a set lying which we put on it after the car was delivered.
