Ford Escort XR3i unfinished project. Last on the road in 2016. The car starts runs and drives and most of the work required has been done but the car will need repainted to finish it. We have the V5 but no real history. The car has a CAT D marker against it from April 2000. We have no idea why. Please bear in mind at that point the car would not have had a very high value and would not have taken much to be uneconomical to repair.
Body - Good strong shell. Very good underbonnet, spare wheel well is good. Floors are all good. Has recently had rear arches repaired and it looks a good job. The have just been primed in black primer, hence the need for the car to be repainted. All the hard work has been done.
Mechanics - Car starts runs and drives. The engine is quiet, gearbox feels fine. Brakes and clutch are good. We drove it round the industrial estate and it feels quite tight. Small clunk from suspension when going over a bump which will need looking at. Will also need MOTD as not been on the road since 2016. we dont know when it was last serviced or when the belt was done.
Interior - 90 spec Rs Turbo seats. Drivers seat has a very small hole on bolster and a bit sagging on bolster but in the main seats are very tidy. Good dash, doorcards, carpet and headlining
Wheels - 4 Original dogleg alloys with decent tyres.
Prices of these are on the up. This will make a tidy example once someone attends to the paintwork. Please feel free to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath.
