Description
Previously supplied to the current owner by ourselves, this 1962 Austin Healey 3000 is one of just 6, 000 MkIIA model cars which pioneered the easy-up pram style hood and wind up windows of the late cars. Built on 20thJune 1962 for Nuffield Exports, this car was purchased from New Zealand, sold and converted RHD by us.
AOW 73A was rebuilt by the Healey Shop of New Zealand in 2000, being completely stripped down and rebuilt from the tyres up. The gearbox and engine are original, with the engine being greatly enhanced with the addition of a upgraded camshaft and triple webber carburettors for a greatly improved horsepower output. At the same time the car was unleaded converted. The car has covered just over 11, 000 miles since the rebuild.
Finished today in superb Healey Blue with Ivory Duotone, Navy interior with Navy carpet set this car presents extremely nicely throughout, is clean and of very nice quality as you would expect from a nut and bolt rebuild car.
We have known this car for a number of years, seen it regularly both in our workshop and at enthusiast events, this is a very good condition much cherished vehicle.
