This is an incredible, upgraded, high performance UK Home Market original RHD Jaguar E-Type Series One 4. 2 FHC still equipped with its original factory supplied engine. This is a sensational drivers’ cars that has had a major, full rebuild completed in 2012 by an E-Type specialist, and since then a huge level of expenditure taking it to an exhilarating specification that makes this a very special car.
DMW 4C was manufactured on the 14th April 1965 and was supplied new by Andover Garage in Hampshire. The cars first owner was Wiltshire based J. T Parsons & Sons Ltd in Westbury and it was registered with the Wiltshire registration mark DMW 4C. Dispatched on the 26th April 1965, by 2010 it was in the hands of Independent Jaguar E-Type specialists Lanes Cars requiring full restoration, and two years later in 2012 the E-Type was fully rebuilt and back on the road. Less than 9000 miles have been covered since.
The Jaguar E-Type was completely stripped and fully rebuilt by the E-Type specialists, and upgrades at the point of rebuild included a larger core radiator and oil cooler, poly bushed front and rear suspension, Gaz shocks, Coopercraft front brakes and stainless steel hoses, competition wire wheels, 5 speed FABS gearbox, electric fan and stainless steel exhaust system.
Just two years after the completion of a top class rebuild, the E-Type went to Winspeed and over £10, 000 was spent on further upgrades to take the car to a whole new level. The car was treated to a Winspeed Motorsport-2 specification cylinder head with iron tappet guides, full WSM exhaust system (loud version), Weber carbs and manifold conversion, new Mahle +20 pistons and upgraded 80amp alternator. In 2021 a further £5700 was spent with Windspeed and work included a new electronic ignition system, renewed upper ball joints, a new steering rack with new uprated rack mounts, renewed UJ's and renewed bearings and hubs.
With 5000 miles since the major upgrades in 2014, and less than 9000 since completion of the full rebuild, this E-Type is spectacular in every respect. On the road the car is truly outstanding with enhanced performance from its engine upgrades, Weber carbs, and the 5 speed gearbox ensures the car is ultra comfortable for long distance touring. With upgrades on the brakes, suspension and steering, this E-Type really is up there in terms of top quality ride and general performance. Eleven years on since being put back on the road, the bodyshell is first class with a colour-coded underside, the paint finish superb, chrome work and glass are excellent, and the interior is quite simply beautiful with an engine bay and boot compartment to match. This is a special car that will be difficult to repeat.
